Latency Reduction for Mobile Edge Computing in HetNets by Uplink and Downlink Decoupled Access

چکیده

Achieving an end-to-end low-latency for computations offloading, in Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) systems, is still a critical design problem. This because the offloading of computational tasks via MEC servers entails use uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) radio links that are usually assumed to be coupled single base station (BS). However, heterogeneous networks, new architectural paradigm whereby UL DL not associated with same BS proposed seen provide gains network throughput due improved performance. Motivated by such gains, using typical results from stochastic geometry, we formulate latency MEC-based scheme decoupled UL/DL association, or access, compare its performance conventional access scheme. Despite backhaul delay necessary communication between two serving BSs DL, capable providing fairly lower compared access.

Backhaul-Aware Decoupled Uplink and Downlink User Association, Subcarrier Allocation, and Power Control in FiWi HetNets

Decoupling the uplink and downlink user association improves the throughput of heterogeneous networks (HetNets) and balances the traffic load of macro- and small- base stations. Recently, fiber-wireless HetNets (FiWi-HetNets) have been considered as viable solutions for access networks. To improve the accuracy of user association and resource allocation algorithms in FiWi-HetNets, the capacity ...

Achieving Low Latency Two-Way Communication by Downlink and Uplink Decoupled Access

In many scenarios, low latency wireless communication assumes two-way connection, such that the node that receives information can swiftly send acknowledgment or other response. In this paper, we address the problem of low latency two-way communication and address it through proposal of a base station (BS) cooperation scheme. The scheme is based on downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) decoupled access...

Decoupled Uplink and Downlink Access in Heterogeneous Networks

Data centric UEs are currently not only demanding more capacity from wireless networks, but also service oriented Quality of Service (QoS) and comparable Quality of Experience (QoE) in both Downlink (DL) and Uplink (UL). With the introduction of internet of things, machine to machine communications, cloud services and the widely-used social media, UEs and devices in general are increasingly mor...

Load & backhaul aware decoupled downlink/uplink access in 5G systems

Until the 4 Generation (4G) cellular 3GPP systems, a user equipment’s (UE) cell association has been based on the downlink received power from the strongest base station. Recent work has shown that – with an increasing degree of heterogeneity in emerging 5G systems – such an approach is dramatically suboptimal, advocating for an independent association of the downlink and uplink where the downl...

On Femto placement and decoupled access for downlink and uplink in enterprise environments

While it is easier to quench the demand for higher data rates outdoors, it is still a significant challenge when it comes to attaining similar data rates for indoor User Equipments (UEs). Femto cells were introduced for this purpose and also to minimize the traffic load on macro Base Stations (BSs) in 4G/LTE cellular networks. Indoor UEs can achieve good throughput if they get high Signal to No...
